Respect Is the Best Fuel

Respect is at the core of everything we do at Brand ID.
Sales Director Juha-Pekka Kettunen explains what this means for our customers:

“The model of continuous improvement doesn’t rest on one person’s shoulders – we work as teams. That requires awareness and appreciation of others. For this to work, everyone must respect the thoughts and opinions of both colleagues and customers.”

Valuing the team makes problem-solving easier. At Brand ID, individuals and teams don’t waste energy pointing fingers – they focus on finding solutions. Problems are faced, fixed, learned from, and then we move on.

“When we respect one another, even difficult situations are resolved faster and more effectively. Giving feedback is a skill – and we’ve come a long way in that. Constructive and positive feedback is now something we’ve learned to both give and receive. It’s not about pointing out mistakes – it’s about creating learning opportunities.”

Improvement suggestions are welcomed and openly discussed. That, too, is a powerful form of respect.

And then there’s one more thing – something easily forgotten, but essential.
“For Finns, it can be incredibly hard to appreciate, let alone praise, ourselves. We tend to shy away from self-promotion or putting ourselves on a pedestal. But that, too, is something we need to learn. Thankfully, we’re getting better at it. Good for me. Good for us.”

Our article series gives a voice to our brand builders. There are 170 of us – and each one has a story. This is one of them.
